THE LUNCH BUDDIES PROGRAM RETURNS TO THE STEAM ACADEMY AT WOODROW WILSON
PORT HURON — The community partnered “Lunch Buddies” program has returned to the STEAM Academy at Woodrow Wilson. Adults who would like to serve as Lunch Buddies can contact the front office of the elementary school at (810) 984-6530 or email Principal Shylah Eagle at seagle@phasd.us with interest in participating in the program. The commitment is one 25-minute lunch period every week or every other week for the remainder of the 2022-23 school year. The staff at the STEAM Academy select and pair the students and “buddies.”
“Lunch Buddies was a popular and positively impactful program that our students really enjoyed prior to the pandemic,” explained STEAM Academy Principal Shylah Eagle. “We are hoping that the community participants return and are enthusiastic once again about supporting our students and building beneficial relationships as mentors.”
