THE PHS ENDOWMENT FUND LAUNCHES ANNUAL KS FOR KIDS FUN RUN WITH NEW PARTNERSHIP
PORT HURON — The Ks for Kids Fun Run will be June 9 at 6 p.m. in Pine Grove Park in Port Huron. This is a new location for the annual fundraiser hosted by the PHS Endowment Fund. This year, the race is hosted in partnership with the City of Port Huron Parks & Recreation Department. It has a “Superhero” theme and participants can dress as their favorite Superhero. The theme is intended to honor our local heroes that make our community a wonderful and safe place to live and learn.
“We have been on hiatus for two years with this event, so we wanted to come back with something new and exciting for the students,” said PHS Endowment Fund chair Kim Dooley. “The partnership with the Port Huron City Parks & Recreation Dept. gives us an opportunity to have a more centralized location in our district for the run. We hope it’s a big family event and a celebration of the beginning of summer.”
This year's route is along the St. Clair River, beginning and ending in Pine Grove Park. Awards will be given to the best three times in each age group for both male and female. Runners can wear running gear, or dress as a favorite superhero and have a chance to win the "best costume" prize. Music, games and more will make this event a district and city celebration of the start of summer while honoring all of our local heroes who make this community such a wonderful and safe place to live and learn.
